Design Inspiration
The appearance is inspired by the biological structures in the movie Alien. I was particularly inspired by the shapes of the exoskeletons, spinal extensions, scales, and bone spurs in the film. On the surface of the alien, each structure looks like the result of the body growing outward from the inside, possessing a very obvious sense of aggression. It is precisely this menacing appearance that amplifies the work's expression: the deeper emotions are suppressed, the more they need a menacing surface to defy the outside world. Therefore, this unconventional form is not intended to instill fear, but rather a form of reverse self-protection.
Materials
EEG: Used to collect brainwave data
Arduino Uno: Serves as the central control unit for the entire system
Servos: I used six servos to drive the movement of the spiked structures on the back
PCA9685: Used to simultaneously power and control multiple servos
External Power Supply: Provides power to the servos
Printing Material: PLA
Nylon Straps: Used to secure the device to the back of the body
